Born with the uniquely alliterative name, Natalie N. Newton, I always knew I could use it for something catchy and memorable...most likely a successful, glamorous career in film, dance, or music. (At least, that was what I aspired to as a kid.)

Of course, that didn't end up happening. Which is ok, because I love working as a Graphic Artist and I wouldn't want to trade it for anything. (Although I do supplement my career with leisurely pursuits in music.)

Funnily enough, my name remained ridiculously alliterative even after marriage, when I went from Newton to Niemi. (Which was fortunate, considering I had already registered my business name and URL.) I considered hyphenating, just to ramp up the N-factor, but wisely decided against it when I realized I might be going overboard.

I have worked in the field of Art and Design for nearly ten years. I attended Art School in the late 1990s at the Art Institute of Colorado in Denver, and received my degree in Graphic Design. I have lived and worked in a variety of locations in the Southwest.

Fun facts about Natalie:
  • I'm a big fan of rock, especially of the classic, metal, and indie varieties, and I fancy myself a bit of a comedy connoisseur.
  • The 1984 mockumentary, This is Spinal Tap is my favorite film. My favorite show (this week) is Flight of the Conchords.
  • I have an extensive background in ballet, and once performed a solo en pointe to Led Zeppelin's Stairway To Heaven.
  • Favorite condiments: Green chile and wasabi!
  • My hobbies include learning, reading, writing, playing guitar, trying to cook, poetry, yoga, home decorating, karaoke, Guitar Hero, making fun of movies with my husband, looking at catalogs, and wandering the aisles of Target.
